Zip-Up Hoodie Artwork: Plan Logos Around Zippers, Pockets and Seams
A zip-up hoodie gives you useful branding options, but its construction shapes the available space. Start with the exact garment before sizing the artwork.

Choose the hoodie before finalizing the design
A full zip, quarter zip and pullover do not offer the same decoration space. On a full-zip hoodie, the front is divided into two panels. Pockets, seams and the zipper can interrupt a design that would fit comfortably on a flat T-shirt.
Send the product name or link with your artwork. If you have not selected the garment, explain the fit, weight and intended use you want. Confirm the actual style before approving a print size; a generic hoodie illustration is not a substitute for that choice.
Give a chest logo its own clear area
A small chest mark is a useful starting point when you want branding visible with the hoodie open or closed. Check the usable panel between the zipper, armhole and any pocket. The available space varies with garment construction and size.
Review small lettering at the intended decoration size. A detailed horizontal logo may need a simpler approved version to work in the available area. Ask us to review the file and placement together rather than shrinking the artwork until it technically fits.
Do not assume artwork can cross the zipper
A design spanning the front introduces an interruption through its centre. Matching the two sides, avoiding hardware and achieving the intended finish require a project-specific assessment. Do not build the order around an uninterrupted front graphic without discussing feasibility first.
Consider moving the main illustration to the back and keeping a smaller mark on the front. That gives each design a defined area and can make the message easier to read. The suitable decoration method still depends on the garment, artwork and quantity.
Check the back with the hood in mind
A hood resting on the back can cover part of a high-positioned design. Review what remains visible when the garment is worn normally, as well as how the graphic sits when the hood is up. Important text deserves particular attention.
A mockup helps communicate the overall arrangement, while written dimensions establish the intended size. Ask where measurements are taken from and confirm the proposed placement. See our logo placement guide for other positions to consider.
Review pockets, sleeves and size differences
Front pockets can reduce the height available on each panel. Sleeve seams and cuffs also affect usable space. Provide every requested position in the brief so the quote and proof cover the full design.
If the order includes youth and adult styles, or a broad size range, ask whether the artwork needs different dimensions. Do not assume one large back design will work on every garment. Keep quantities grouped by product, colour and size when describing those variants.
Approve the full combination
Check the exact hoodie, colour, logo version, locations and dimensions together. Compare the appearance with the hoodie open, closed and layered if those uses matter to your team. Consolidate feedback into one revision request.
Before approving, use our mockup review checklist. Save the final proof and product details for future orders, and ask us to confirm availability and specifications again when reordering.
